About Yokibunkatsu
Choose five connected squares around each star so the paper folds into an open box. The star belongs on the base, opposite the missing lid.
Explore 202 original charts across four sheet sizes. Fixed cuts must become box boundaries, while spare paper can stay unused.
How to play
- Goal
- Make a five-square open box around every star, with each star on its box’s base.
- How it ends
- You finish when every star has a valid box and every fixed cut belongs to a box boundary; mistakes can always be undone.
- Record
- Your fastest unaided first-solve time is kept for each chart.
- Select a star, then tap four other squares to make its box. All five squares must join along their edges. Tap an assigned square again to remove it.
- Each five-square shape must fold without overlapping faces. Its star must lie on the base, opposite the missing lid. Use Fold to inspect your completed shape.
- A thick fixed cut must separate different pieces and touch a box. A cut between two unused squares is not allowed. Other spare squares may remain unused.
- Give every star a valid box to finish. Undo and Redo correct one edit; Restart asks before clearing the chart.
Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Mouse / touch | Select a star, then tap squares to add or remove them |
| Arrow keys + Enter / Space | Move across the sheet and select or edit a square |
| Escape | Close a dialog or return to the chart shelf |
| Gamepad | D-pad navigates; A selects; B returns; Start opens Settings. |
Tips
- Picture the missing lid The starred face is opposite the opening. It does not need a neighbour on every side.
- Read the fixed cuts A cut cannot lie inside one box or between two unused squares.
Good to know
Charts and examples are original, based on the published Yokibunkatsu rules. Progress and Undo stay on this device when storage is available. Music, effects and reduced motion have separate settings. Shelves group sheet sizes, not difficulty.

Questions
Must I use every square?
No. Spare squares can remain unused, provided every fixed cut touches a box.
Must the star have four neighbours?
No. A star at the short end of an L-shaped net can still fold onto the base.
Can a reloaded chart set a time record?
No. Reload keeps local progress, but only an uninterrupted unaided first solve can set its time record.
