How to play
- Goal
- Shade cells so every numbered room has its stated dark count, all dark cells connect by shared sides, and no row or column has four consecutive cells of either colour.
- How it ends
- A chart opens when all three rules hold; marks can be changed and there is no loss state.
- Record
- The time of the first unaided solve of each fixed chart is kept locally and may rank publicly.
- Tap a square to shade it dark; tap it again to clear it. A brass-seamed room with a rune needs exactly that many dark squares. The rune square may itself be dark; rooms without a rune have no count.
- The worked picture shows a three-square room marked 3. All three squares must be shaded. The next square in that row stays pale, because four consecutive dark squares would be illegal.
- All dark squares must join by shared sides into one vine. Neither dark nor pale may run four squares straight in a row or column. Pale planning notes are optional, and unmarked squares count as pale at the finish. Undo restores a mark; Restart clears marks without resetting the first clock. A reload keeps an unfinished chart local only; replays are untimed practice. Public first-solve times may be up to 24 hours.

All 160 charts have one independently verified answer. A separate bounded deduction trace finishes each without guessing; removing any one of the room-count, dark-connection, or two-colour straight-run rules makes each chart ambiguous. Private witnesses stay outside the bundle. Saves use morass.aqre.v1; sound follows the shared arcade setting. No ads or analytics run inside the game.

About Aqre
At the Witch's Moonloom, weave one thorn-vine through ivory cloth beneath a celestial loom. Raised bronze seams divide each tapestry into rooms; the rune in a numbered room tells exactly how many of its squares to shade.
The 160 original charts have one independently proved pattern each. A separate deduction trace completes every chart without guessing.
Your first finish time stays in this browser. An uninterrupted first solve can claim the named public best for its chart.
