About Cocktail Lamp

Shade cells inside outlined rooms to match their numbers. Each room holds one connected cluster; neighbouring rooms must stay apart along edges while their clusters join through corners.

Choose from 1,530 original puzzles across three open shelves, from 4×4 to 6×6. Every puzzle has one answer and can be completed by deduction.

How to play

Goal
Shade the numbered amount in each room and join all clusters through corners.
How it ends
One connected shaded network matches every room, without shaded room edges or 2 × 2 squares.
Record
The fastest first unaided solve of each puzzle is recorded.
  1. Shade exactly the printed number of cells in each numbered room. A numbered cell may itself be shaded. An unnumbered room may be empty.
  2. Within each room, all shaded cells must form one connected block through shared edges.
  3. Shaded cells in different rooms must never share an edge. Join every block into one network through corner contacts instead.
  4. Never shade a complete 2 × 2 square, even inside one room.
  5. Choose Shade, Clear or Erase, then tap or drag cells. Clear marks are optional notes; only the shaded pattern is required to finish.

Tips

  • Watch room boundaries A shaded cell rules out edge-adjacent shading across a room boundary.
  • Keep a corner available A separate cluster still needs a corner route into the rest of the network.

Good to know

Progress saves in this browser. The first clock starts on chart selection and continues through menus and Restart. Reloads, clock changes or browser suspension make an attempt local only. Practice keeps the original finish. Music and Effects have separate switches.

Questions

May I shade the number?

Yes. The number counts every shaded cell in its room, including its own square.

Must every shaded cell touch another diagonally?

No. Cells in the same room connect through edges. Corner contacts join the separate room clusters into one network.

Must I mark every unshaded cell clear?

No. Clear marks are optional notes. A correct shaded pattern completes the chart.
