How to play
- Goal
- Shade cells into distinct five-cell pentominoes so every arrow shows exactly the closest shaded directions.
- How it ends
- A chart is complete when the shaded pieces obey all shape, separation and arrow rules; there is no loss.
- Record
- Your first solve time is kept per chart, and the fastest verified first solve appears with its holder.
- Shade connected groups of five cells. Each group must match one pictured shape after rotation or reflection, and each shape may appear at most once. Some pictured shapes are decoys. Separate groups cannot touch, even diagonally. The worked picture shows a left arrow pointing to the closest shaded cell two spaces away and a complete I relic.
- A compass cell stays empty. Look straight up, right, down and left from it: its arrows show every direction tied for the nearest shaded cell. A direction with a farther shaded cell gets no arrow. Tap an open cell to shade it, tap again to mark it empty, and tap once more to clear it. Drag to shade or erase; use two fingers to pan a larger chart.
- Undo reverses a claim or stroke. Check names a broken rule without showing an answer. Restart clears marks but keeps the clock running from when the chart opened. A chart finishes when all its shape, separation and arrow rules hold; there is no loss.
Controls
| Tap / click a cell | Cycle open, shaded, marked empty, open |
|---|---|
| Drag across cells | Shade or clear several cells in one stroke |

| Right click a cell | Clear it |
| Arrow keys | Move focus through editable cells |
| Enter / Space | Cycle the focused cell |
| X | Mark the focused cell empty |
| Delete / Backspace | Clear the focused cell |
| Z | Undo the last claim or stroke |

All 150 fixed charts have one independently proved shaded answer, are distinct under square symmetries, and use exact nearest-direction arrows. The private solver and witnesses do not ship. About Pentopia
At a moonlit cartographer's table, shade connected five-cell relics while brass compass arrows reveal the closest shaded directions.
Explore 150 fixed charts across three atlases. Each chart has one independently proved arrangement; pictured shapes may be decoys and no two relics may touch, even at a corner.
The clock starts when a chart opens. Your first solve is saved on this device, and an uninterrupted first session can set a public best time shown beside the chart.
