How to play

Goal
Give every printed number its own rectangle of the stated area.
How it ends
Every number belongs to exactly one correctly sized rectangle and rectangles do not overlap; Undo and Erase allow corrections.
Record
Your first unassisted finish keeps your time for that chart; later plays are practice.
Worked visual example for Kapetto
Worked example. See the rule happen, then follow the numbered rules below.
  1. Give every printed number a rectangle containing exactly that many cells.
  2. A rectangle must contain exactly one clue. Rectangles cannot overlap, but may touch along edges or corners.
  3. Other cells may remain uncovered. Gaps do not need to connect, and there is no full-grid coverage rule.
  4. Choose two opposite corners, or drag between them. Tap the same cell twice for a one-cell carpet. Erase removes the entire rectangle.
  5. Restart preserves the first clock. Reload preserves an unfinished original attempt and Undo; its resumed finish stays local. Reload starts a practice replay again.

Tips for Kapetto

  • Count cells, not side length A clue of 6 could occupy a 1×6, 2×3, 3×2 or 6×1 rectangle when the grid permits.
  • Respect other clues A proposed rectangle cannot contain a second printed number.
  • Leave gaps alone A cell need not be covered merely because only one clue could reach it.
