How to play

Goal
Divide all tiles into connected regions of exactly four. Each number counts its surrounding borders, including the fixed frame.
How it ends
A chart is won when every region has four tiles, every clue matches and no divider dangles inside a region; there is no loss.
Record
Your first unassisted solve of each chart earns one fastest-time record; replays are practice.
Worked visual example for Foseruzu
Worked example. See the rule happen, then follow the numbered rules below.
  1. Tap a seam to cycle divider, open-seam note and blank. Drag along seams to paint one stroke. A stroke starting on a divider paints open notes instead.
  2. The worked picture shows two four-tile squares and counts their fixed frame borders. A short divider that ends inside one connected region is invalid, even when a clue matches.
  3. Undo and Redo reverse a tap or complete stroke. Restart clears the chart after confirmation without resetting the first-opening clock. All charts are open from the atlas.

Tips for Foseruzu

  • Count the frame Outside borders already contribute to edge and corner clues.
  • Exactly four A region may have any tetromino shape; it needs four connected tiles.
  • No dangling dividers A wall must separate regions. Tiles cannot still connect around its end.

Questions about this game

Must every region contain a clue?

No. A region can contain several numbered tiles or none.

Must I fill every open note?

No. Notes are optional; an unmarked seam remains open.

Can a replay improve my first time?

No. The first completed time stays saved; replay is untimed practice.

The 160 chart partitions differ under rotation and reflection. Independent exact-cover enumeration proves uniqueness; local four-cell candidates give a checked deduction path. Private generators and witnesses do not ship. Progress uses morass.foseruzu.v1.

About Foseruzu

Restore the four-stone wards of a mountain wayshrine. Raise brass dividers around groups of exactly four connected tiles.

Four open shelves hold 160 original charts. Every numbered tile counts its surrounding region borders, including the outside frame. Blank tiles belong to regions too.

Each chart has one independently proved partition and a checked local deduction path. Your first time is kept; replays are untimed practice.
