About Dragon's Hoard Dice

Roll five dice, keep the ones you like and roll the rest again, then open the treasure chest your roll fits: a pouch for a pair, a crown casket for a full house, the golden Dragon Egg for five of a kind. Gold flies into your hoard as each lid bursts open.

Ten dragons guard 150 lairs, and every realm changes the dice: a gem die that counts double, ember flames that are wild, frost that freezes a 1, crystal dice with 4 to 12 sides, a goblin's loaded die to unmask, cursed skulls and a sleeping storm dragon. Hoot the owl shows the exact chance of every chest and teaches why, so children learn real probability while they play.

How to play

Goal
Reach each lair's goal before its turns run out by rolling dice, keeping the ones you want, and opening the treasure chest your roll fits.
How it ends
A lair ends when its turns are used up (or the dragon wakes); it is won if the goal was met, and if not you simply try again.
Record
The game keeps your best gold and stars for each lair, and the ten highest golds of every lair.
  1. Tap Roll to throw all five dice. Tap the dice you want to keep; Roll again throws only the others. You have one roll and two rerolls a turn.
  2. End each turn by tapping one chest. If your dice fit it, it opens and pays its gold; if not, choosing it gives it up for nothing.
  3. Every chest shows Hoot's lens: the chance that your next roll fits it, counted exactly. It never tells you what to do.
  4. Meet the lair's goal before its turns run out. Stars: one for the goal, one for the silver line of gold, one for the lair's Wish.
  5. New realms add new dice. Each opens with Hoot's lesson, and a riddle before some lairs earns a four-leaf clover: one extra roll when you need it.

Tips

  • Keep what fits two chests Three 4s can still become a Silver Coffer, a Gold Chest, a Crown Casket or the Dragon Egg.
  • Give up a hard chest early If a chest is unlikely, spend a poor roll on it now and keep your good rolls for chests that pay.
  • Read the lens before you reroll Tap different dice to keep and watch the chances change before you commit.

Good to know

Progress stays in this browser, and a lair in progress resumes after a reload. Every lair keeps a verified top ten of the highest golds; each try rolls new dice, and only a lair whose goal is met can enter it.
