About Bird Arena
Practise recognizing 306 photographed birds in five competitions: Recognition Sprint, Latin Names, Name Search, Matching Table and Bird Families.
Bird Families covers 135 families using AviList v2025b, with common and scientific family names. Songs and calls, native regions and size comparisons are still in development.
How to play
- Goal
- Identify birds from real photographs and learn their common and scientific names and families.
- How it ends
- Recognition ends after 90 seconds or one mistake; name and family rounds finish after ten birds, and Matching after ten pairs.
- Record
- Keep your best score and answering time for each practice competition; Matching includes three seconds per wrong pair.
- Recognition Sprint: choose the common name from eight answers. You have 90 seconds, and one mistake ends the sprint.
- Latin Names: choose the scientific name. Name Search: type part of a name, then choose a result. Each round has ten birds.
- Matching Table: select a photograph and its matching name, in either order. Complete ten pairs; each wrong pair adds three seconds.
- Bird Families: choose the family of the pictured bird from up to eight answers. Each round has ten birds; classification follows AviList v2025b.
- Read the answer reveal to learn the bird. Restart deals a new run; Continue restores unfinished practice.
