About Borrowed Gravity

Borrow falling, floating or rising gravity from enchanted stones to guide an apprentice through a ruined sky temple. Every exchange changes two bodies: lifting yourself may send a useful stone down.

Explore 145 chambers across mossy cloisters, floating archives, inverted belfries and a moon observatory. Rune plates, thorns and crumbling ledges turn a small set of moves into spatial puzzles. You can think as long as you like and undo freely.

How to play

Goal
Come to rest at the moon gate by exchanging gravity with enchanted stones.
How it ends
Settle at the gate to clear a chamber; thorns catch the apprentice and unlimited Undo restores any move.
Record
Each chamber keeps your fewest actions and first-solve time; replays can improve actions.
  1. Select the apprentice or a rune stone, then select a different body to exchange their gravity. A downward arrow falls, an upward arrow rises, and a hollow circle floats. Bodies settle against walls or each other after every action.
  2. Walk left or right one tile. A supported apprentice can jump diagonally away from its floor: upward from the ground or downward from the ceiling. A floating apprentice can walk but cannot jump. Come to rest at the glowing moon gate to finish; passing through it is not enough.
  3. A stone resting on a golden plate opens rune doors. Cracked ledges disappear when the apprentice leaves their support. Thorns catch the apprentice; Undo restores a safe position.
  4. Undo and Redo restore positions without reducing your action counter. Restart asks for confirmation. Hints suggest a next action and mark the attempt assisted. You can open any chamber from its region.
  5. The first chamber opening starts its clock, including time spent in menus and restarts. Only an unaided first solve can set a time record. Replays can improve actions; reopening an unfinished chamber starts a fresh route as untimed practice.

Tips

  • Borrow before crossing Floating keeps your height, but you lose the ability to jump. Plan where you will exchange again.
  • Look at both bodies Every exchange gives your old gravity to the other body. Check where the stone will settle before you commit.
  • Use the ceiling With upward gravity, jump down and sideways to get past a hanging obstacle, then walk clear so you can rise again.

Good to know

Progress and first-solve times stay in this browser. Replays can improve unaided action bests. Assisted completions are marked and never submitted as records. Returning to an unfinished chamber resets its route as untimed practice. Music and effects have separate switches; reduced motion is available.

Questions

Can I exchange two stones without choosing the apprentice?

Yes. Any two bodies with different gravity can exchange it, anywhere in the chamber.

Why do the jump arrows point downward?

Your upward gravity makes the ceiling your floor. Jumping moves away from that floor, then gravity pulls you upward again.
