About Word Guess
Guess the hidden word in six tries. Every guess lights its letters: gold with a notch for the right letter in the right place, blue with a ring for a letter that belongs somewhere else, dark for one the word does not hold.
The city gate has a new five-letter lock every midnight (UTC), the same for everyone, with an archive of every past day and a streak. A finished daily gives a share line of squares that spoils nothing.
The twelve houses of Veldrenmar — the Hearth, the Garden, the Wildwood, the Market, the Harbour, the Road, the Festival, the Library, the Forge, the Apothecary, the Keep and the Night Sky — hold 240 hand-picked locks of four to seven letters. The house is your clue, and each one climbs from short words to long.
Fewest guesses and fastest time are public records with their holders' names, and they count on your first attempt at a lock only. No ads, no coins, no hints, no energy.
How to play
- Type a real word and press Enter; a word the dictionary does not know costs nothing.
- Gold (notched): right letter, right place. Blue (ringed): in the word, elsewhere. Dark: not in the word.
- Solve it within six tries. Strict mode, in Settings, makes you use every hint.

The daily walks a reviewed pool of 1,854 ordinary words and will not repeat for over five years. Dictionaries come from SCOWL (Kevin Atkinson) and 12dicts (Alan Beale); word frequencies from Google Books Ngram (CC BY 3.0). Your results, streak, kept attempts, sound, strict and reduced-motion settings persist in this browser.
