How to play

Goal
Carry as many travellers as you can: each one wants a town of the kind shown on its sign.
How it ends
The run ends when a town stays overcrowded until its warning ring closes; in Endless no town ever overcrowds, and you stop when you like.
Record
The most travellers carried on each map, and on each day's map.
Worked visual example for Ley Lines
Worked example. See the rule happen, then follow the numbered rules below.
  1. Drag from one town to another to draw a ley line; a skiff starts flying it. Drag a line's end knob to another town to extend it, drag the middle of a stretch onto a town to route the line through it, and drag back to the first town to close a loop. Undo takes back any line edit, and you may pause and edit as long as you like.
  2. A town holds 7 waiting comfortably. Past that a warning ring closes around it, and when it closes the run ends. Give a busy line more skiffs or wagons from its panel, draw a second line to a crowded town, and reach each map's one rare town early: every traveller with its sign must get there.
  3. Every 70 seconds a moon ends and the realm waits while you pick a gift. A waystone set on a town (tap the stone at the bottom, then the town) lets it hold 16 and speeds boarding. A stretch over water, a chasm or a ridge uses one crossing.

The towns, skiffs, bridges, trees and the ground textures are warehouse 3D models and pictures drawn with three.js; the music, sounds and fonts come from the Morass warehouse. A run is sent as the line edits you made and when, and the records worker plays the whole run again with the same rules before it keeps a place. About Ley Lines

A realm-builder in the spirit of Mini Metro, seen in 3D across the eight regions of Orenvalt. Towns rise one by one, hearths, mills and keeps and a single shrine, spire, well, forge, grove or gate on each map, and travellers gather at them, each with the sign of the kind of town it wants. You draw ley lines between the towns and sky-skiffs fly them, carrying each traveller to a town of its kind, changing lines where they must.

Every map is fixed and the same every time: 56 of them, from the river meadows of the Westmarches through lakes, marshes, a fjorded coast, snowy highland ridges, red canyons and the frozen night of Ostvalden to the floating Sundered Isles. Water, chasms and ridges cost a crossing each, a stone bridge, a rope bridge or a tunnel, and you hold only a few. Each moon ends with a new skiff and a choice of two gifts: a new line, a wagon, more crossings or a waystone.

Each map keeps a Top 10 of the most travellers carried, and so does each day's map; the site replays every run's edits before it keeps a place. Bronze, silver and gold wait on every map card, and Endless lets you build without ever losing.
