About Measured Bridges
Join numbered islands with single or double bridges. Golden islands add a length total: count the grid steps travelled by every bridge strand touching that island.
Explore 160 original charts across eight collections. Match the ordinary bridge counts, use the golden measurements and connect the islands into one network.
How to play
- Goal
- Connect all islands, matching each bridge count and every golden length total.
- How it ends
- A chart finishes when counts and lengths match, bridges do not cross, and the network is connected; there is no loss.
- Record
- Your first solve time for each chart is kept; later solves are untimed practice.
- Join only horizontal or vertical nearest neighbours. Bridges cannot pass through an island or cross another bridge.
- Each ordinary number counts the bridge strands touching its island. A double bridge counts twice.
- A golden island also shows L and a total length. Measure centre-to-centre grid steps and count each strand: two bridges spanning three steps contribute six.
- Tap two islands, or drag from one to its neighbour, to cycle no bridge → single → double → none. Reverse cycles in the other direction.
- Match every count and golden total, with all islands connected in one network. Loops are allowed.
- Undo and Redo revise an action. Restart clears the same chart while its original clock continues.
Controls
| Input | Action |
|---|---|
| Tap / click two islands; drag between them | Cycle a connection |
| Right-click; Reverse tool | Cycle backwards |
| Arrow keys; Enter / Space | Choose an island; select or join |
| X; Z / Y | Reverse; Undo / Redo |
| Escape | Cancel selection, close a dialog or return to the atlas |
Tips
- Count strands and distance separately A single long bridge can contribute more length than a double short bridge.
- Keep the whole network in view Matching nearby numbers is not enough if a finished group is isolated.
Good to know
Progress and history save in this browser. The first clock starts when a chart opens and continues through menus and Restart. Reloaded unfinished charts remain playable with local timing. Later solves are untimed practice. Music, effects and reduced motion have separate settings.

Questions
Can bridges form a loop?
Yes. The final network must be connected, and loops are allowed.
Is length the number of empty dots?
No. Count grid steps from one island centre to the other, including the final step onto the neighbour.
