About Curio Cabinet

A hidden-object game in eight painted rooms of a hedge-wizard's house: a study, a dusty attic, an apothecary, an alchemist's cellar, a scriptorium, an astrologer's tower, an enchanter's workshop and a collector's vault. Each scene crowds two to three hundred curios onto the shelves, tables and floor, and lists twelve of them to find.

The scenes come in four kinds: a list of names, a list of silhouettes, a list of riddles, and candlelight, where the room is dark but for the candle you carry. Every scene keeps a Top 10 for the fastest clear and one for the fewest misses, set on its first try.

How to play

Goal
Find every curio on the list in the room's clutter.
How it ends
A room is cleared when the last listed curio is found; it cannot be lost, but every wrong tap adds five seconds and every hint thirty.
Record
The fastest clear and the fewest wrong taps of each scene's first try.
  1. Each scene lists twelve curios beside a crowded room. Tap each one where it stands; a tap a fingertip away from a curio still finds it, and the curio lifts out of the room while its line is struck from the list. The clock starts when the room appears and stops at the last find.
  2. Drag to look around the room, and pinch, use the wheel or the plus and minus buttons to zoom in on small things. Every wrong tap adds five seconds to the time. The magnifying glass is the hint: it rings the first curio on the list not yet found and adds thirty seconds.
  3. Some scenes show only each curio's outline, some describe each one in a riddle, and in candlelight scenes only the patch of room around your candle is lit: it follows the pointer, and on a phone a tap outside its light carries it there without counting as a miss. Only a scene's first try can set a record, because a second already knows where everything is; later tries are practice for your own best.
