How to play
- Goal
- Shade cells into one connected river with no solid 2×2 block, making each numbered lotus equal the total size of the distinct pale islands touched diagonally by its cell.
- How it ends
- A chart clears when the river and every numbered lotus agree; there is no loss.
- Record
- Only the fastest first solve of each chart is kept; replays are practice.
- Shade river squares so all dark squares join edge to edge. A solid 2×2 river block is forbidden. Every unshaded square belongs to a pale island, and numbered lotus squares remain pale.
- For each numbered lotus, look at its diagonal neighbours only. Add the full size of every different pale island that touches one of those corners, counting each island once. Its own island contributes only when one of its diagonal neighbours is part of it. The worked picture shades a corner forced by 0 and shows how a neighbouring 3 counts an entire three-cell island through one corner.
- Tap a free square to shade it; tap again to clear it. Pale notes are optional. Tap a lotus to light its diagonal squares and the islands they currently touch. The displayed sum is provisional while you shade. Undo, Redo and Restart let you revise the chart; Restart keeps the first clock running. The chart clears as soon as the connected river, 2×2 rule and lotus totals all agree.

About Lotus Village
At a moonlit lake village, pale islands hold brass lotus lanterns. Shade a single winding river between them, and read each lantern from the islands meeting its corners.
Explore 160 original compact charts on four open shelves. An independent exhaustive checker proves one answer for every chart, including the subtle cases where a lotus does not count its own island.
Your first solve time stays in this browser. An uninterrupted first finish can claim the named best beside the clock and on the chart card.
