How to play
- Goal
- Draw one orthogonal loop through every open tile exactly once, avoiding the dark blocks.
- How it ends
- A chart is won when all open tiles belong to the same closed loop; there is no loss.
- Record
- Your first unassisted solve of each chart earns one fastest-time record; replays are practice.
- Tap between neighbouring open tiles to cycle a line, a crossed-out note and blank. Drag through tile centres to draw a chain of lines. Dark blocks cannot be used.
- The worked picture shows a corner before and after joining its only two exits. The rejected small ring leaves twelve open tiles outside: close the circuit only after every open tile joins it.
- Undo and Redo reverse a tap or complete drag. Restart clears the circuit after confirmation while keeping the first-opening clock running. All charts are available from the atlas.
Controls
| Tap / click between tiles | Cycle line, cross and blank |
|---|---|
| Drag through tile centres | Draw links; a cancelled stroke withdraws |
| Arrow keys; Shift + arrow | Move the cursor; change the link in that direction |
| Enter; C | Change the highlighted link; rotate its direction |
| Z / Y; Undo / Redo | Reverse or restore a tap or full drag |
| Restart | Clear after confirmation without resetting the first clock |
| Escape | Close a dialog or return to the atlas |
| Gamepad | D-pad moves; A changes a link, X rotates, shoulders undo / redo, B returns and Start opens Settings |
Tips for Pure Loop
- Two exits A tile with exactly two available neighbours needs both links.
- One circuit A small closed ring cannot finish while other open tiles remain outside.
- Optional crosses Crosses help track excluded links, but are not required to finish.
Questions about this game
Must every open tile be visited?
Yes. Every unblocked tile must belong to the single closed loop.
Can lines cross or branch?
No. Each open tile needs exactly two links.
Can a replay improve my first time?
No. The first completed time stays saved; replay is practice.
All 160 original charts have distinct open-tile shapes under translation, rotation and reflection, one exact Hamilton cycle and an independently checked degree/subloop deduction trace. Private witnesses do not ship. Progress uses morass.pure-loop.v1.

About Pure Loop
Restore the brass circuit of a mountain wayshrine. Join neighbouring open stones into one unbroken ward around the fixed masonry.
Four open shelves hold 160 original charts, each with one independently proved solution and a checked deduction trace. Every open tile needs exactly two links; all links must belong to the same loop.
Your first time is kept per chart. An uninterrupted first solve on the game page may claim the named fastest time; replays are practice.
