About The Hollow Crown

Carve a sanctuary beneath the roots for mushroom folk, stonebacks and wandering wisps. Build gardens, nurseries and workshops, then choose which workers can leave their jobs to defend the hearth.

Restore 6 regions through 30 missions. Rescue hidden families, discover room combinations and follow the mystery of a crown that consumed its people’s light. Pause whenever you need to plan.

How to play

Goal
Restore the six buried sanctuaries and protect their inhabitants.
How it ends
Complete a mission's restoration and repel its last assault; losing the sanctuary heart ends the attempt.
Record
Keep your highest sanctuary score for each mission, completed stories and sandbox settlement in this browser.
  1. Choose a mission. Dig outward from an open hall to rescue residents and uncover relics; rough solid bedrock cannot be excavated.
  2. Build a room on connected dry floor. Open Residents, choose Work, then select the room. Staffed rooms produce resources or provide healing, repairs and new residents.
  3. Use Residents → Guard → tile to place defenders before an assault. Defending stops that resident’s civilian work. Keep enough people growing food and tending light.
  4. Open the mission’s Plan to check every restoration task. Complete those tasks and defeat the final assault to restore the sanctuary. Collect optional relics before victory.
  5. Pair a garden with a nursery, a quarry with a workshop, or a lantern with a spring for production bonuses. Different neighbours working together form friendships.

Tips

  • Leave a worker behind A resident sent to guard stops producing. Keep food coming while your strongest defenders hold a narrow passage.
  • Use the pause Pause before moving several workers. You can inspect the mission plan and give orders without advancing the assault.
  • Pair useful rooms A garden beside a nursery, a quarry beside a workshop, or a lantern beside a spring improves production. Keep different neighbours working together to form friendships.

Good to know

Progress stays in this browser. Loading pauses the settlement. Paused and resumed campaign victories can enter the verified Top 10; sandbox play is unranked. Verification may wait after reopening an older settlement.
