About Gold Runner
The dig-and-run treasure game, in the treasury beneath a Korthen deep-keep. You are a delver with a pick: run along storeys of ward-brick, climb ladders, go hand over hand along ropes, take every heap of gold, and when the last one is gone a golden ladder appears that takes you out at the top.
Goblin thieves chase you with the original game's own guard logic. Dig the brick beside your feet and a goblin that runs into the hole drops in and is stuck for three seconds: walk over its head. The hole knits itself shut again a few seconds later, and whoever is still inside is sealed in — a goblin is buried and comes back at the top, and so would you be. Goblins pick up gold and carry it off; false brick gives way under your feet; stone cannot be dug.
There are 200 vaults in eight halls, each hall teaching one new thing, and every vault was cleared by a planning bot before it shipped. Each vault keeps two Top 10s, best score and fastest clear, and every run on them is re-played by the site before it is ranked.
How to play
- Goal
- Take every heap of gold in the vault, then climb the golden ladder to the top.
- How it ends
- You clear the vault when you reach the top row with all the gold; the run is lost if a goblin catches you, a hole knits shut around you, or the vault's time runs out.
- Record
- For every vault, the ten best scores and the ten fastest clears, each proved by replaying the run.
- Move with the arrow keys, WASD, the pad or a held drag: climb ladders, hang from ropes, fall off edges.
- Dig down-left with Z and down-right with X (or the Dig buttons): a goblin that runs into the hole is trapped — walk over its head.
- Take every heap of gold, then climb the golden ladder to the top row before the time runs out.

The brick, stone, ladders, ropes, gold, torches and banners are Blender renders of textures and models from the Morass warehouse; the runner is the warehouse's animated dwarf miner and the goblins its goblin sneak, with climbing and rope animations borrowed from its traversal pack. The goblins chase by the original Lode Runner's published guard logic and move on its shared-turn table, so each is slower the more of them there are. The simulation uses whole numbers only and a run is just the actions the runner took, so every browser plays it back identically and the records worker re-plays each one before it enters a Top 10. Your bests stay in this browser under morass.gold-runner.v1. No ads or analytics run inside the game.
