About Eagle Joust
The flap-and-joust arcade classic, in the sky-lists above a storm. You are a Warden knight on a harpy eagle: tap to flap, steer left and right, and the sides of the sky wrap round. Goblin raiders ride blood hawks, buzzards and condors over the same floating ledges, and when two riders meet, the higher lance wins.
Unseat a raider and it leaves an egg: gather it before it hatches, or a tougher rider climbs out and remounts. A mark over every raider near you shows who would win if you met now. From the third reach the storm below reaches up for anyone who skims it, and a sky that drags on brings the Wyrm, which falls only to a lance met face to face in its open beak.
There are 120 skies in eight reaches, from two slow Bounders over many ledges to seven raiders of every kind over a handful. Every sky was cleared by a planning bot without losing a life before it shipped, and each keeps two Top 10s, best score and fastest clear; every run on them is re-played by the site before it is ranked.
How to play
- Goal
- Unseat every raider in the sky and gather every egg before it hatches.
- How it ends
- The sky is cleared when no raider, egg or hatchling is left; the run is lost when the last of three lives is lost to a higher lance, the Wyrm or the storm below.
- Record
- For every sky, the ten best scores and the ten fastest clears, each proved by replaying the run.
- Tap Space, ↑ or W (or the Flap button) to flap: each tap is one wingbeat. Hold ← → or A D (or ◀ ▶) to steer.
- Meet a raider with your lance higher than its lance to unseat it; level lances bounce, a lower one costs you a life.
- Gather every egg before it hatches, keep clear of the storm below, and meet the Wyrm's open beak or keep away from it.

The riders are Blender renders of the Morass warehouse's rigged harpy eagle, blood hawk, buzzard and condor, each with a rider from the warehouse seated on its back by a borrowed sitting pose; the Wyrm is its pterosaur, and the ledges are rendered floating rock. The simulation uses whole numbers only and a run is just the inputs you used, so every browser plays it back identically and the records worker re-plays each one before it enters a Top 10.
