How to play
- Goal
- Lay one continuous railway from the entrance gate to the exit gate, matching every row and column track count and every fixed rail piece.
- How it ends
- A chart is solved when its rails form that single legal route; there is no loss state.
- Record
- The fastest first solve of each chart is kept as a public record, with its holder's name.
- Lay one continuous route from gate A on the left to gate B at the bottom. Every occupied square holds one straight or bend with two ends. Rail ends must meet; they cannot point into a wall or an empty square. The numbers beside rows and below columns count squares with rails, not rail ends. Printed rails cannot move.
- The worked 3×3 chart is one bend short. Its middle row needs three rail squares, and placing the missing west-to-north bend both reaches that count and joins the open ends from A to B. Choose one of the six pieces in the tray, then tap a square to place it. Tap the same piece again to clear it. Empty marks are optional notes.
- The chart completes as soon as all counts and connections agree. Red counts or rail ends show a conflict; Undo reverses a mark. Restart clears marks but does not reset the first-solve clock. A completed chart can be solved again as untimed practice from its printed clues.
Controls
| Tap / click a rail piece, then a square | Place that straight or bend; tap the same piece again to clear |
|---|---|
| Empty / Erase | Mark an optional blank note or clear a square |
| Arrow keys | Move focus around the chart |
| 1–6 / X / Backspace | Place a rail piece, mark empty or erase the focused square |
| Undo / Z | Restore the previous mark |
| Restart / R | Clear marks without resetting the first clock |
| Escape | Close a panel or return to the chart atlas |
All 160 fixed charts have one independently verified route, need both count axes, and finish by elementary local deductions. Private witnesses do not ship. Saves use morass.train-tracks.v1; sound follows the shared arcade setting. No ads or analytics run inside the game.

About Train Tracks
Unroll an Orenvalt sky cartographer’s folio and lay bronze rails from the entrance gate to the exit gate. Each row and column tells how many squares carry track.
Every chart has one independently verified route and a path of deductions without guessing. Fixed rails, turns, counts and the two gates give each chart its shape.
Your first completion time stays in this browser. An uninterrupted first solve can claim the named public best for that chart.
