About Word Wheel

Trace a word around the letter wheel and watch it fill the crossword. Use the crossings to spot the words still missing, or collect extra words along the way.

Choose from 1640 original grids with 4–7 letter tiles. Daily visits the same library, while free, counted hints offer a nudge when you need one.

How to play

Goal
Join wheel letters to fill every word in the crossword.
How it ends
Every square is filled. Wrong guesses cost nothing; there is no loss.
Record
Your first solve keeps Time and Letters revealed.
  1. Choose a grid or Daily. Join at least 3 wheel letters to make a word. Use each physical tile at most once per word; repeated letters need separate matching tiles.
  2. Drag through tiles and release, or tap tiles then Submit. A grid word fills its squares and shared crossings. A word completed by crossings needs no extra submission.
  3. Other accepted words enter Extras. Extras are optional; words outside the fixed American-English list cost nothing.
  4. Hint reveals one blank square and adds one to Letters revealed. Restart clears found grid words but keeps hints, extras and the original clock. Shuffle changes tile positions only.
  5. Fill every square to finish. The first completion keeps both records; later replays cannot replace it. Daily shares its grid’s progress and first result.

Tips

  • Use the crossings Look at the letters already filled and the lengths of the gaps. Try arranging the wheel into a word that fits.
  • Look for the full-wheel word Every grid includes a word using all its tiles. Finding it can open several crossings.

Good to know

Progress stays in this browser. The clock runs through menus, backgrounding and restarts. Reloaded unfinished attempts become local practice. Only the first completion can set either record. Chapters describe wheel size, not difficulty. If saving fails, keep the page open to continue locally.

Questions

Must I find every extra word?

No. Fill the crossword to finish; Extras are an optional collection.

Can I reuse a letter?

Each tile can be used once per word. A repeated letter needs two separate tiles. All tiles are available again for the next word.

Does Daily add a new puzzle?

Daily selects from the 1640 library grids, visiting each before repeating. It shares the selected grid’s save and first result.
