How to play
- Goal
- Join every outlined room to exactly one edge-sharing room.
- How it ends
- A chart is solved when all rooms are paired and no two edge-sharing paired provinces have the same area; there is no loss state.
- Record
- The fastest first solve of each chart is kept as a public record, with its holder's name.
- Join every outlined little room with exactly one room that shares a wall. Tap one room, then a neighboring room to pair them. A small brass seal shows each room's area; after a join, it shows their combined province area.
- Two joined provinces may touch only if their areas differ. The worked map first pairs the two left rooms into an area-2 province, then the two right rooms into an area-4 province. Those provinces touch legally. Pairing across the rows instead would make two touching area-3 provinces and break the rule.
- A red pair touches another province of the same area. Tap either room in a joined pair to separate it, or use Undo. Restart clears joins while the first-solve clock continues. The chart finishes when every room has a partner and no equal-area provinces touch. Replays are untimed practice; there is no loss state.

About Pair Blocks
Restore a moonlit province atlas on a cartographer's table. Tap two edge-sharing little rooms to join them into one glowing province.
All 160 original charts have one independently verified pairing, and each can be finished with local deductions and one-step contradictions. Every chart needs the rule that touching provinces cannot have the same area.
Your first finish time stays in this browser. An uninterrupted first solve can claim the named public best for its chart.
