How to play
- Goal
- Fill each outlined chamber with every number from 1 through its size, once each.
- How it ends
- A chart is complete when all white cells are filled, equal numbers do not touch across chamber borders, and every arrow points to its single largest neighbouring number; there is no loss state.
- Record
- Your fastest first solve is kept locally and may rank on that chart's public board; replays are untimed practice.
- Each outlined chamber contains every number from 1 through its number of white squares, once each. Equal numbers in different chambers may meet at corners, but never across a shared edge. A dark arrow stone points to the single strictly greatest of its adjacent white squares; the black stone takes no number.
- The worked picture shows real Chart 001 before and after entering 4 above the upward arrow. Its target must be greater than the other white neighbours and still fit its chamber. Select a white square and tap a number below, or type 1–5 while the square has focus. Printed numbers stay fixed; repeating a number clears it.
- A full chart completes when every chamber, shared edge and arrow agrees. Wrong entries can be erased or undone; there is no loss. Restart clears entries but keeps the first clock running. Replays are untimed practice. Returning from the atlas in one page keeps the first clock and public record chance; reloading an unfinished chart keeps the entries locally but cannot rank that first finish.

All 160 original fixed charts have one independently verified answer and a no-guess chamber-and-arrow deduction trace. Removing the arrows or cross-chamber no-touch rule makes every chart ambiguous. Private witnesses do not ship. Saves use morass.makaro.v1; sound follows the shared site setting. No ads or analytics run inside the game.
