How to play
- Goal
- Fill every white compartment with consecutive digits in any order, with no repeats in its whole row or column. Numbered black squares exclude their digits.
- How it ends
- The chart finishes when every white square is filled and all runs and row/column exclusions agree. Entries can be erased or undone.
- Record
- Your first unassisted finish keeps its time for this chart; later plays are Practice.
- A compartment is an uninterrupted horizontal or vertical run of white squares, bounded by black squares or the chart edge.
- Use digits 1–4 on a four-by-four chart, 1–5 on five-by-five and 1–6 on six-by-six. Each white run must contain a consecutive set in any order: 3, 1, 2 is valid.
- A digit cannot repeat anywhere in a row or column, even in different compartments. A digit printed in black excludes that digit from its whole row and column; it is not part of any white straight.
- Select a white square, then tap a digit. Blue tint follows its crossing white runs. Given digits and black squares cannot be changed. Repeating a digit clears it; Undo, Redo and Erase remain available.
- Red outlines mark a duplicate or a compartment with no remaining consecutive interval. They check visible rules without showing a solution. Fill all white squares and satisfy every run to finish.

Tips for Str8ts
- Start short Start with short white compartments containing given digits. A two-cell run with 4 can contain 3 or 5, until row/column exclusions remove an option.
- Black means exclusion Treat black numbers as exclusions, never as members of neighboring white runs.
- Intersect both axes A digit can fit a straight but still repeat elsewhere in its whole row or column.
Questions about this game
Must the digits be sorted?
No. A straight is a gapless set in any order. For example 4, 2, 3 is a valid three-cell straight.
Does a black digit count toward a white straight?
No. It only excludes that digit from its row and column. Blank black squares have no digit to enter.
What happens when I replay?
Replay is Practice and preserves your first finish time. Reloaded or interrupted first attempts remain local, while progress and Undo are retained.
All charts and worked diagrams are original. Progress and Undo save in this browser. Reloaded first finishes and detected clock or browser-suspension discontinuities remain local. If progress cannot be saved safely, the game tells you. Classic rules are described by str8ts.com; this is an independent implementation.
