How to play
- Goal
- Decide which witnesses are innocent and which carry the shadow by using the numbered rows, columns, guilds and testimony seals.
- How it ends
- The case closes when every witness is classified and all public clues agree; a failed full-case verdict counts as a mistake, but the case cannot be lost.
- Record
- Each case keeps its fastest first solve and fewest failed verdicts as separate public records, with each holder's name.
- Each witness is innocent or shadowbound. A number on a row, column, guild or testimony seal counts exactly how many of its marked witnesses are shadowbound. Tap a clue to light the portraits it covers; every clue tells the truth.
- Select a witness and press Clear or Accuse. Revise a mark at any time. The worked picture shows a separate three-witness row with a zero count: all three must be innocent.
- When all witnesses are marked, press Verdict. If public counts disagree, the conflicting clues turn red and one failed verdict is counted; no hidden answer is revealed. Correct every public count to close the case. Undo and Restart preserve the first clock, which starts on opening. Replays are untimed practice; a same-page return keeps a first attempt, while reloading unfinished progress makes it local only.

All 160 fixed cases are exact-one, testimony-dependent and independently traced without an open guess. A failed verdict reveals only public clue conflicts. Private answer witnesses and proof traces do not ship. Saves use morass.suspects.v1; sound follows the shared arcade setting. No ads or analytics run inside the game.
About Suspects
At the moon court, each witness belongs to a guild and may carry the shadow. Clear the innocent and accuse the shadowbound on an illuminated case folio.
Every numbered row, column, guild and testimony seal tells the exact number of shadowbound witnesses in its set. All clues are visible from the start. Each of 160 short cases has one independently verified answer and a deduction path without guessing.
Your first finish time and failed verdict count stay in this browser. A live first solve can claim separate named public records for speed and accuracy.
