How to play
- Goal
- Turn off every lantern by pressing a square, which flips itself and its orthogonal neighbours.
- How it ends
- A board is complete when every lantern is dark; there is no loss and every chart can be cleared.
- Record
- The first solve time and the fewest presses for each chart are kept locally and on the public board.
- Turn off every lantern. Tap a bright or dark square to flip itself and its neighbours above, below, left and right; diagonal squares do not flip. The worked picture shows the cross before a middle press and the dark board after it.
- Keep pressing until all lanterns are dark. Undo reverses one press; Restart restores the starting lights without resetting your first clock. Every valid clear wins, even if its press pattern differs from the shortest one.
- Your first clear time is sealed. Replay any chart to improve your fewest presses. All four atlas shelves are open from the start.
Controls
| Tap / click a lantern | Flip it and its orthogonal neighbours |
|---|---|
| Undo / Z | Reverse the latest press |

Every chart is verified solvable, unique up to rotation and reflection, and assigned its true minimum by two independent solvers. All valid press patterns are accepted. Saves use morass.lights-out.v1; sound follows the site setting. No ads or analytics run inside the game.
