How to play
- Goal
- Label cells to match each region’s count, connect all labelled cells by sides, avoid a fully labelled 2×2, and keep equal labels apart across region borders.
- How it ends
- A chart is complete when all four rules hold; entries remain editable and there is no loss.
- Record
- Your first unassisted solve of each chart keeps its time; replays are Practice.
- Every bold region needs labels. A label is the total number of labelled cells in that region. Circled givens are already labelled and cannot change.
- All labelled cells form one connected group through side neighbours. A region’s labels may connect through another region.
- Never label all four cells of a 2×2 square.
- Equal labels may touch inside one region, but cannot touch by a side across a bold border.
- Tap an empty cell to write its region’s number. Tap again to erase. Blank mode adds an optional × note; blank notes are not required to finish.

Tips for Nanro
- Fill a count When a region already has its required labels, every other cell stays blank.
- Avoid the fourth corner Three labelled corners of a 2×2 force the fourth corner blank.
- Find the bridge A label with only one possible side connection needs that neighbour labelled.
Questions about this game
Does a number count its whole region?
Yes. Every label in one region shows the same total, including fixed givens.
Must a region connect inside its own border?
No. Its labels may connect through another region; the whole grid needs one side-connected labelled group.
Must I mark every blank?
No. Blank crosses are optional reasoning notes.
Does Restart reset the clock?
No. It clears editable entries and retains the original clock. Undo can restore the cleared entries.
What happens when I replay?
Replay is untimed Practice and preserves your first finish time. Reloaded unfinished attempts remain local while progress and Undo are retained.
All charts and worked diagrams are original. Progress and Undo save in this browser. Reloaded first finishes and detected clock or browser-suspension discontinuities remain local. Unsafe or unavailable storage is reported in-game. This is an independent implementation of the classic Nanro rules.
