About Spider Solitaire

Spider at the warden's table: two decks laid in ten columns, most of them face down. Any card may go on one a rank higher, whatever its suit — but only a run of one suit moves together, and a king-to-ace run of one suit lifts off the table by itself. Eight runs clear it.

Play with one suit, two or four. That is the genre's own difficulty ladder, and it is steep: one suit is a gentle ten minutes, four suits a real campaign. There are 500 deals in one suit, 500 in two and 454 in four, and a Day's Deal in two suits that is the same for everyone.

Every deal here has been won by our solver before you see it, its winning line stored and replayed by the build. The shuffle is a published seeded stream, so a deal is the same cards for everyone for ever and cannot be adjusted to the player. Nobody sees the hidden cards, so the way through is yours to find.

Best time and fewest moves are public records per deal, with their holders' names; only your first finish of a deal counts for time. Undo costs a move and stops at the last card turned over or dealt, so it can never be used to peek. No ads, no coins, no energy.

How to play

  1. Place any card on a card one rank higher, of any suit. Only a run of one suit moves together.
  2. Build king down to ace in one suit and the run lifts off the table. Eight runs win.
  3. Tap the stock to deal a card onto every column — never while a column is empty.

Controls

TapMove a card or run to its best place; tap again for the next place
DragCarry a run to exactly the column you want
Tap the stock / DDeal ten cards
Arrows, Enter, Space, 1–0Walk the cards, move, pick up, place on a column
U / H / EscUndo (costs a move), hint, put a lifted run down

Each deal keeps a fastest time and a fewest-moves record, with holders' names; only a first finish counts for time. A hint keeps the deal but not the record. The clock starts when the cards are dealt and never pauses. Progress and settings are saved in this browser.
