How to play
- Goal
- Place each historical event in the right order on your timeline.
- How it ends
- Chronicle and Close Calls end after three misplaced cards; Ten Cards and the Daily Ten end after ten cards.
- Record
- Your most cards placed in a Chronicle or Close Calls run, and your best Ten Cards score and time, for each collection; Daily Ten keeps each day's score and your streak. Personal records stay on this device.
- A run starts with one dated card on the timeline and one card in your hand. Drag the card onto the line, or tap a gap and press Place. Earlier events sit to the left (or above on a phone), later ones to the right (or below).
- A card is in order when its year lies between its neighbours. Events from the same year may go on either side of each other.
- A misplaced card is refiled at its true place, so the timeline is always correct. In Chronicle and Close Calls it costs one of three lives; in Ten Cards and the Daily Ten you simply count how many of ten you placed in order.
- Each card has 20 seconds. When the thread runs out the card is refiled as a miss. Reading the fact afterwards is untimed. You can turn the card clock off in Settings; untimed runs set no records.

Uninterrupted attempts can enter the named Top Ten for each mode and collection; paused or resumed attempts retain personal results.

About Order of Ages
An archivist’s long table, a brass ruler and a growing row of index cards. Each card names a moment in history; file it before, between or after the cards already down, and its year is stamped as it settles.
3,000 reviewed events from across the world, the same archive as The Chronometer, each with a short fact and its source. Play Chronicle with three lives, Close Calls where every card lands near one already down, a quick Ten Cards, or the Daily Ten that everyone shares.
