About Warding Towers

The arcade game Missile Command, on the wardens' wall of a fantasy city at night. A comet storm is falling on six districts of lit timber houses, and three mage towers stand on the wall with crystals at their crowns. Tap the sky: the nearest tower throws a ward-bolt there, and it bursts into a rune circle that burns every comet inside it.

A comet that burns out bursts into a smaller ward of its own, so one good throw can chain through a cluster. Each wave is faster and thicker: violet comets split on the way down, and wyverns cross the sky dropping more. Each tower has ten bolts a wave; unspent bolts and standing districts score at the end of it, times a multiplier that climbs to six.

The night ends when the last district burns. The endless night is a new sky every time; the daily night is the same sky for everyone. The Ten keep the best nights of each, and every night on them was re-played by the site before it was ranked.

How to play

Goal
Shield the six districts of the city: tap the sky to throw ward-bolts that burst and burn falling comets out.
How it ends
The night ends when the last district burns. Every wave you survive refills the towers.
Record
The ten best scores on the endless night and on the daily night, each re-played by the site before it is ranked.

The simulation uses only + − × ÷ and square roots and plans each wave's comets from the seed alone, so every browser re-plays a night to the same score and the daily sky is the same for everyone; the records worker re-plays every night before it enters the Ten.
