How to play

Worked visual example for Dragon Ice Fishing
Worked example. See the rule happen, then follow the numbered rules below.
  1. Choose a fish shadow or its card. Weight and temperament tell you the reward and difficulty. Hold Breath until Heat reaches the green 60–85% band, then release to open a hole.
  2. Once the fish is hooked, hold Reel during calm spells. Release for a surge, high tension or high heat. Giving line cools the dragon and lowers tension, but the fish retreats a little.
  3. At 100% tension the line breaks; five seconds without reeling loses the fish. Heat at 100% cracks the ice. Three cracks, eight attempts or two minutes end the outing.
  4. Total landed weight is the record. Best catches stay in this browser; uninterrupted outings can enter each lake’s verified Top 10. Fish count and outing time do not improve an equal-weight result. The trophy lists catch weights in grams; the game displays kilograms.

Tips for Dragon Ice Fishing

  • Read the water Surge coming gives an early warning. Give line before the fish starts pulling hard, then reel again when it calms.
  • Choose your risk Larger fish weigh more but need longer fights. A modest catch is better than a snapped line.
  • Use the green band Release Breath between 60% and 85% Heat. If you overshoot, cool and use a short breath before releasing again.
  • Discover the Fishbook Every landed species is remembered immediately, even if you leave the outing.

Questions about this game

Why does giving line move the fish away?

Giving line reduces tension and heat. The small loss of distance keeps reeling a timing decision; staying slack for five seconds lets the fish escape.

Why is an outing personal only?

Pause, hide the tab or interrupt the game for a long time and it keeps a local best but cannot enter the records.

Do I need to buy or improve equipment?

No. Every lake is open, all players have the same rod, and catches depend on choosing and reeling.

What does the records worker check?

It replays the complete input history and computes the landed weight. A supplied score alone is never accepted.

About Dragon Ice Fishing

A copper dragon has a warm breath and a cold-water hobby. Choose a fish beneath the ice, melt a hole, and learn when to reel and when to give line. A tiny snowminnow is gentle; a horned crown sturgeon is a much heavier fight.

Twelve lakes are open from the start, from snowy forest ponds to glacial caves and aurora-lit depths. Short outings, visible surge warnings, six species in the Fishbook, and real catches rather than an upgrade grind.
