About Kin-Kon-Kan
Place slash and backslash mirrors in outlined regions. Connect matching edge letters with exactly the pictured number of reflections.
All 96 charts are original. Four open shelves contain 24 charts each, from four by four to seven by seven cells.
How to play
- Goal
- Place one slash or backslash mirror in every region and connect matching letters with the stated reflection count.
- How it ends
- Match every region and beam to finish; mistakes can always be undone.
- Record
- Fastest first unaided solve for each chart; the clock starts when the chart opens and never pauses.
- Place exactly one slash or backslash mirror in every outlined region. Empty notes are optional and do not count as mirrors.
- Light enters perpendicular to an edge label. Each mirror turns it through a right angle. Connect matching letters with the stated number of reflection events.
- Room borders do not stop light. Beams may cross empty cells, share a mirror or encounter the same mirror again; every encounter counts.
- Select either edge label to inspect the current ray from that endpoint. A mismatch can change as you place more mirrors.
- Slash, Backslash and Empty note toggle one cell. Clear selects the clearing tool; Erase clears the selected cell immediately. Undo and Redo reverse one action.
- Restart keeps the first clock running. A finished chart reopens as Practice and preserves the first finish. Whole chart shows the complete diagram.

Tips
- Count turns A mirror changes the ray direction by a right angle. Count each encounter, even if a path revisits a mirror.
- Use small regions A one-cell region must hold a mirror. Compare its two orientations with the labelled rays.
- Trace from either end Inspect both matching labels to understand how your current marks guide the beam.
Good to know
Mirrors, notes and Undo save in this browser. The first clock starts when a chart opens and never pauses. Reloaded attempts stay local; Practice preserves the first finish.
Questions
Do region borders block light?
No. They only divide the one-mirror quotas.
Can two beams use one mirror?
Yes. Beams may share mirrors and cross empty cells.
Does a repeated mirror count twice?
Yes. The number counts reflection events, including repeated encounters.
Must I fill every empty cell with a note?
No. Empty notes are optional.
Does Restart reset the clock?
No. It clears your entries while the first clock continues. Practice preserves the first finish.
