For Rune-blade in Mossgate, room 20, using only the two starting spells, Lunge and Slash. Each hit that does not kill the Bog Mother splits off a bog spawn on a free tile beside her. This route fights her in the gap between two walls, where there is room for only one.
Minor spoiler: Mossgate room 20: the full solution.
Before you begin
Reach room 20 by clearing the first nineteen rooms and taking their normal rewards. The script needs nothing beyond the Rune-blade's starting kit. Its win was checked with that kit and with 50 sampled reward histories. The recording's earlier rewards included Lunge rank 2 and three ranks of Spiked runes, which strike back when you are bitten; these changed its turns and HP.
The script
repeat 2:
step right
face up
cast lunge
repeat 8:
face up
cast slash
- Open The Bog Mother, choose Write my script, and enter the seven lines above. Keep the indentation.
- Press Play. The hero steps two tiles right, below the gap between the two lower walls. The Bog Mother creeps into the gap.
- Lunge rushes up to her and hits. Her first bog spawn appears on the tile behind her.
- Now the walls, the hero and that spawn fill every tile beside her, so later hits cannot split off another. Slash hits her every turn until she falls; the spawn then steps in and is slashed too.
The result
The recorded run finished in 8 turns, 22 executed instructions and 7 rows, with 21 HP and zero fumbles. It earned the turns, rows and HP stars. With only the starting kit, the same script took 11 turns and kept 11 HP. This is a safe winning route, not an optimal score for every measure.

If it goes wrong
- Fight her in the gap. In open ground every non-killing hit can split off another spawn, up to three.
- Keep Face up inside Repeat. Slash only hits the tile right ahead.
