The Office Vacated
One sexton, twice over. The rope re-hung.

The Hollow Fields boss, in the graveyard behind the Cut-Bell Chapel: level 6, 1,400 life, and a ward in front of it. He is the main quest The Predecessor. This fight can earn four achievements: Sound Practice (pull the bell-rope), Objection Overruled (break his ward), Down to the Last Third, The Office Vacated (his death) and, if their conditions are met, the two route achievements Ahead of the Paperwork and A Region Without a Deduction.

The fight

Come in from the chapel forecourt. Walk round the chapel to the graveyard; he notices you there, and the walkers about the forecourt join him.
Pull the rope. The bell-rope hangs by the chapel. While the Sexton is fighting you and stands within 25 m of it, the prompt reads E ring the bell. A pull knocks him down for 2 seconds and calls three walkers round you, and earns Sound Practice. The rope has two pulls; outside his fight it does nothing.
Break the ward. His bar starts Shielded, the ward drawn as its own figure (108 in the recorded run). Every hit takes it down; when it breaks, the bar shows his life alone and Objection Overruled is earned.
Keep your distance and keep hitting. His blows hit hard; the recorded Huntsman kept walking back between shots and drew him out of the graveyard. When a hit leaves him at or below a third of his life, Down to the Last Third is earned.
Finish him. His death earns The Office Vacated and closes The Predecessor; the tracker turns to First Bell.

What goes wrong

The bell's walkers. Each pull adds three walkers round you; pull it when you can afford them, not at low life.
Too far from the rope. Lead him away and the prompt is gone; with him more than 25 m from the rope a pull does nothing.
A bounty joins in. The Bell-Ringer's Understudy stands just west of the graveyard and joined the recorded fight. Kill it first if you would rather fight one at a time.
