Solved the case of Sarl's Own Hand.

Patron: Halvik Storn, in Dreskmark Market Square. The sheet asks for Culprit, Tell, Motive. Each answer must rest on a finding; a lead only points you onward.

Usually heard from Kerrin Dolm (“Ask Kerrin which claim will not value true”), or Halvik Storn (one matter at a time, while no other case is open). You need not wait for it: a case enters your casebook as soon as you hold one of its facts.

Gather the proof

1. Take the Hasp Marks in Dreskmark River Docks.
   Needed before Kerrin Dolm: “Show Dolm the hasp marks”.
2. Take the Bond Register in Dreskmark River Docks.
   Finding Goods Gone Before: “Sarl's bond-register shows the pledged stock struck off and sold cask by cask in the weeks before the night it was cried stolen — little was left to take.”
   Lead Dunn Accused: “Sarl named the thief unasked, before a single cask was counted: his creditor Wessel Dunn, the man who has been dunning him for repayment.”
3. Take the Indemnity Claim in Dreskmark River Docks.
   Finding Sarl Claims Indemnity: “The Concord claim values the lost stock at the full bonded sum — matching, to the coin, the very debt Sarl owes and cannot pay.”
4. Talk to Kerrin Dolm in Dreskmark River Docks and choose “Show Dolm the hasp marks”.
   Finding No Outside Entry: “Dolm's survey found the hasp prised from the inside, the lane boards unscuffed and no drag-trail for the casks — the door was opened from within.”

• Dunn Pressed For Debt makes a wrong sheet presentable (Culprit: Wessel Dunn, Motive: Dunn Grudge). “Wessel Dunn, the creditor, has been pressing Sarl hard for repayment — the standing grievance Sarl points to when he names him the thief.”
• Forced Entry Proof makes a wrong sheet presentable (Tell: Outside Burglary). “On first sight the store read as a burglary — hasp sprung, the door open to the lane, the casks gone; the very picture Sarl's claim leans on.”

Close the case
